Traditionally dry ice manufacturing equipment only made use of approximately 40% of the CO2 gas in the production of drice. Handling, storage and transport pose further problems since dry ice is mostly manufactured off site and almost immediately starts to sublime or melt.
The revolutionary solution developed and patented by Triventek and distributed in Ireland by Jetvent solves these problems as on-site production using a pelletizer with an integral recovery unit, allows production at the point of usage to make the exact quantities of high-quality dry ice that is required.
Dry-ice pellets are made by releasing liquid CO2 at high pressure into a cylinder. This snow is then compressed into solid dry-ice pellets. The escaping gas is directed back to the unique recovery unit and reused. This is an on-going process, which eliminates gas losses to almost zero and as a result reduces the price of dry ice by half thus increasing profits / reducing cost.
A further significant advantage of the equipment is the capability to move the equipment for producing dry-ice to the point of local operation whether for a chilling process or for cleaning purposes. The equipment comprises a pelletizer and recovery unit for manufacturing dry ice with the addition of a blaster for cleaning. All equipment is fully mobile, can all pass through any standard door, and only requires a standard power supply.
